Your Guide to: Five Minute Fall Activities for Mom

Each September, Labor Day brings one of the last heat waves of summer and Americans are able to breathe a sigh of relief knowing fall is around the corner.

As the end of the year winds down, schedules don’t necessarily become any less hectic as school is back in full swing and holidays approach earlier each year. For moms across the country who are juggling jobs, toddlers or teens, here are a few ways to bring the family together this fall whether you have five minutes or 30.

Have an extra five minutes?

Pumpkin spice has been sweeping the nation each fall for the past few years and we couldn’t let this opportunity for a fall pumpkin Chex Mix recipe to pass by without letting you guys in on this five minute recipe. Have the kids join in to help with an after dinner snack. What takes two minutes to prep and three minutes to heat in the microwave, this delicious, sweet and salty treat will be a hit for the family. Oh, did we forget to mention the Maple-Butter Spiced Popcorn? Don’t forget to add that to the list.

Have an extra ten minutes on the way home from school?

Whether you live in an area that gives you four seasons and a color change in the trees or not, take a few minutes one day to go on a new route in the car with the family. See who can find the brightest red tree or a pumpkin patch on the side of the road. Try out a game of iSpy or go out of your way to collect a few pinecones. Festive decor never hurt anyone, right?

Have an hour to spare on the weekend?

Whatever stage you are at as a parent, spending time together as a family is important every day of the year. Pick a free evening one weekend to gather everyone up for a bonfire in the backyard. Head outside and grab a few sticks (if you’re feeling up to it), break out the marshmallows and graham crackers, bring the hot chocolate or send them on a scavenger hunt and try out some family bonding (the kids won’t even know what hit them).

As your children grow older, it’s important to capture each year as it is a special time in their life and yours. Let Cady Studios do the work for you on Picture Day this fall.
